VIWMA Power Boyd Pump Station Offline for Repairs

(St. John, VI) – The VI Waste Management Authority (VIWMA) advises residents of St. John that the Power Boyd Pump Station located in Estate Chocolate Hole is currently offline due to a break in the discharge pipeline.

The break was discovered late Thursday. Repairs are currently underway at the Power Boyd Pump Station.  The Authority anticipates repairs will be complete by the end of the day on Friday, December 9, 2016.

Residents with impacted immune systems or respiratory conditions are asked to avoid the area until the repairs are completed.

Residents and businesses are also asked to refrain from pouring liquid grease and various personal products down the drain.  These items can and do impact operations at the Authority’s pump stations and wastewater treatment facilities.

To report overflows, residents may Report-A-Problem on the Authority’s website at www.viwma.org or contact the Wastewater Division at 712-4962 or 715-9100.
