VIPD Search for Pine Peace Shooting Suspect

V.I. Police Department investigators were still searching for the suspect in a Sunday night, November 28, shooting in Pine Peace which left a young man with several bullet wounds.

The 21-year-old victim was injured in his lower left abdomen and also grazed by a bullet on the side of his face from his right temple to his right earlobe after being shot around 8:50 p.m. on November 28, according to police.

The incident was reported to the VIPD by officials at Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center, where the victim was treated before being transferred to R.L. Schneider Hospital on St. Thomas. He underwent surgery at the St. Thomas hospital, but was listed in stable condition last week, according Schneider officials.

The victim told police he was arguing with a male suspect in the Pine Peace area when during the argument, the suspect pointed a handgun at him and began shooting, according to VIPD officials.

Police urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives at 714-9801 or 715-5516.

Residents were also urged to call the anonymous tip line at Crime Stoppers USVI with any information at 1-800-222-TIPS.
