USPS Set on Cruz Bay Parking Garage Site for New Post Office

The U.S. Postal Service has scheduled a follow-up public meeting concerning the relocation and selection of the revised site location for the new Cruz Bay main Post Office.

After reviewing other sites, the USPS has decided to relocate the Cruz Bay main Post Office to the proposed vendors plaza and parking facility to be built by the government of the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to a press release from the USPS.

The Turnbull Administration officially offered to provide the USPS its required and revised new postal space requirements; providing approximately 6,500 net interior ground floor commercial space, along with exclusive loading dock/platform area and Postal Service parking, representing more than 7,000 gross square feet of new postal space, according to the release.

The USPS believes the new location, situated directly across from the USPSÂ’s current facility and barge dock in Cruz Bay, will provide the community with an upgraded, modern postal facility offering a safe working environment for employees and a level of service expected by customers, the release stated.

The meeting will be at The Westin ResortÂ’s Coral Reef conference room on Monday, June 26, at 5:30 p.m.

The USPS forms a vital part of your nationÂ’s heritage and the USPS feels strongly that the community at large should be involved in the process where postal facilities are to be located. Please plan to attend.
