Two minors were taken into custody on Monday, March 10, and charged with robbery, assault in the first degree, possession of stolen property and grand larceny in connection with an early morning assault which occurred on February 10. The victim of the assault was intoxicated and walking through Cruz Bay when he was accosted by the minors, according to V.I. Police Department spokesperson Melody Rames.
“The victim was walking in the area of the Lumberyard after the bars had closed,” said Rames. “He was intoxicated, and he was assaulted by four minors. During the assault, the victim sustained a broken nose and his bag of personal items was taken.”
Police arrested one minor after the assault, according to Rames, who did not have further information on that arrest, and the VIPD’s investigation led to the subsequent arrest of two other minors involved in the attack.
