To the Rescue by Bob Malacarne

St. John Rescue has its regular business meetings on the first Thursday of each month at Myrah Keating Smith Commun-ity Health Center (MKSCHC). The public is welcome.

The group also conducts training sessions on the second Thursday and the fourth Sunday of each month. For more information check out our website www.stjohnrescue.org, or call training officer Bob Malacarne 626-5118.

October Activity
October 10 – Rescue responded to the Cruz Bay Fire Station to attend to a person who was bleeding profusely. Person was transported to MKSCHC

October 13 –  Rescue responded to the bottom of Jacob’s Ladder for a motor vehicle crash involving a tourist driving on the wrong side of the road. No injuries.

October 17 –  Rescue responded to a structure fire in Coral Bay. No injuries.

October 22 –  Rescue responded to the Westin to attend to a female who became unconscious.  Person was transported to MKSCHC.

October 28 –  Rescue responded to a reported motor vehicle crash in Coral Bay.  No injuries.

October 29 –  Rescue responded to a reported motor vehicle crash near the Texaco Station.  None was found.

October 30 –  Rescue responded to a motor vehicle crash in Coral Bay.  A head-on collision sent two people to

MKSCHC for treatment. Also, later the same day Rescue responded to a call for a motor vehicle crash on Jacob’s Ladder. It was a minor fender bender with no injuries.

To date we have logged in 84 calls. A significant increase over last year’s total.

Rescue 3 Dedication
St. John Rescue had a dedication ceremony for our new Res-cue 3 vehicle, on Saturday, November 18 in Franklin Powell Sr. Park in Cruz Bay.
