Timeshare Employee on Hawaii’s Most Wanted List Leaves St. John

Cynthia Reed, AKA Cristina Reid

Business owners and employees at Wharfside Landing were reminded of the old adage “don’t judge a book by its cover,” last week when an associate at the Cruz Bay shopping area was discovered to be a fugitive on the lam from the island of Hawaii.

A woman known as Cristina worked for months at the Starwood Vacation Ownership booth just off the ferry dock and was considered a friendly companion of many residents who worked nearby.

The woman known as Cristina, however, was actually Cynthia Reed who is on Hawaii’s Most Wanted list for forgery, theft and assaulting a police officer.

Reed was last seen on Wed-nesday, August 22, in Cruz Bay getting on the 6 a.m. ferry to Red Hook where it is presumed she continued to the Cyril King Airport and left the territory, according a Wharfside Landing employee.

$90,000 in Warrants
The fugitive, who has not yet been apprehended, is wanted on warrants totalling $90,000 and has twice been caught driving stolen vehicles with fake license plates, according to Hawaii television station KHNL’s Web site.

“In another case, a woman alleges she returned home to find Reed burglarizing her home,” according to www.khnl.com. “Another woman had her wallet stolen. When she called in to cancel her credit card, she was told it was just used to check into a Waikiki hotel.”

“Police found Reed inside the registered room,” according to the television station’s Web site. “And in yet a separate incident, police tell us they can connect her to a theft and forgery case.”

A Starwood area director for Human Resources declined to comment on Reed’s employment with the company which owns Westin Resort and Villas.

Company representatives had become aware of Reed’s identity after her departure, according to the Human Resources director.

Reed is about five feet seven inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds and has light brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Hawaii’s Crime Stoppers at 808-955-8300.
