Thank you ladies of the Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Joining this group of dedicated women provided an experience that was truly an amazing and heartfelt day of Thanksgiving. Not mentioning individuals by name is my way of saying that this was a true representation of St. John.
Each of the women prepared a portion of the feast at her home and carried platters to the church for all to share. To ensure the future of this long-time tradition, one of these gracious ladies brought her grandsons along. They helped organize and set up the dining room and provided assistance throughout the day.
While the meat was being carved and the side dishes were being served, friends, neighbors and parishioners continued to bring in home cooked dishes to be shared with the community. All were welcomed with warm and jovial greetings.
Special fussing, hugs, and sweet kisses were lavished on the babies and children. There was plenty of love and sharing to go around. All of those working to continue the transportation and retail services for our community were encouraged to enjoy a meal with this family and bring back a plate to those who had to mind their posts.
Thank you ladies for continuing to provide us all with a reminder of what our community really is.
