Spaces Still Available for the 18th Annual Love City Triathlon, Aquathlon and New Kids’ Mini Swim-Run

St. John, USVI – There are still spaces available in the 18th Annual Love City Triathlon & Aquathlon taking place from Maho Bay on Sunday, September 3rd at 7:00 AM. The Aquathlon features a 0.5-mile swim followed by a 4-mile run. The Triathlon adds in a 13-mile bike ride after the swim. This year, relay teams are permitted for both the Triathlon and Aquathlon.

Following the race and before the awards ceremony, youth ages 8-13 have the opportunity to participate in a new event, the Kids’ Mini Swim-Run. This race consists of a 50-yard swim and 3/4-mile run.

Athletes can register online at stjohnlandsharks.com or at The Tap Room or Arawak Expeditions both located in Mongoose Junction. Last-minute sign-ups and the pre-race meeting will take place at The Tap Room from 4:00 to 5:30 PM on Saturday, September 2nd. Participation is limited to 70 and there will be no registration the day of the race.

As of Sunday, August 27, the race is 60% full, with most athletes coming from St. Thomas and the BVI.

The $35 entry fee per athlete ($30 for youth age 14-17, $10 for youth 8-13) includes a finisher’s award, on-course support, a beach picnic and awards for the top three male and female finishers in each event.

St. John Brewers will be on site after the race serving beverages. For athletes coming from off-island, Cinnamon Bay Resort is offering a discounted rate on available accommodations, and Mr. Piper will have a dedicated taxi that includes bike transport.
