Seaborne Airlines Introudces New Airshuttle and Special Fares

Seaborne Airlines announces new airport services. Beginning Saturday, November 1, Seaborne Airlines launched its airport branded airline, the Seaborne airshuttle, with daily flights available from St. Croix Henry Rohlsen and St. Thomas Cyril King airports to San Juan’s convenient Isla Grande Airport.

The airshuttle will also offer scheduled new late evening flights between STX and STT Friday through Sunday. The San Juan airshuttle flights will be offered on a supplemental basis with availability offered during convenient morning and afternoon times.

Flights will be flown by a professional two pilot crew, utilizing the twin engine de Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otter aircraft. While supplemental flights may only be booked by calling Seaborne reservations — the new STT/STX flights as well as all Seaborne seaplane flights may still be booked online at www.seaborneonline.com.

“All of the 130 employees of Seaborne are very proud to bring a new generation of convenience and low fares to the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico,” said   Omer ErSelcuk, Seaborne’s President & CEO. “The airshuttle represents a bifurcation of the Seaborne Airlines brand into the Seaborne airshuttle to serve the airports and the Seaborne seaplane to continue the long standing tradition of downtown to downtown St. Croix/St. Thomas service.”

“As with the Seaborne seaplane, the airshuttle has been designed to be convenient and hassle free,” Erselcuk said.

Some of the key features of the airshuttle are:

• The most convenient location at STT — only steps from separate parking, check-in, and the departure gate.

• A separate terminal in STX located across from the Randall Doc James horse track with plenty of free parking and an air-conditioned comfortable lounge.

• Isla Grande Airport, located right next to the Convention Center, is close to all the reasons to go to San Juan, with free parking only steps from check-in and the departure gate.

Additionally, the airshuttle provides the following benefits to all of our customers:

• Popular late evening STX/STT airport flight times.

• The ability to fly in cloudy, rainy weather — improving reliability.

• To provide backup for Seaborne seaplane STX/STT flights in case of weather.

• The reduced cost of operation allows us to maintain lower fares.

“It is our hope that the airshuttle, which will initially serve San Juan Isla Grande from St. Croix and St. Thomas, will be expanded to add San Juan International in the future,” ErSelcuk said. “Before this happens we want to ensure the traveling public is aware of our new service and its benefits.”

“To do so we are launching a very special introductory promotion for travel through December 31, by offering limited introductory fares for San Juan of $85 each way and the STX/STT airport service at $65 each way,” ErSelcuk continued. “These introductory San Juan seats may be purchased through November 7 and will be limited per flight, so hurry.  Once they sell out our great new fares will apply.”

“On the way to providing the new Seaborne airshuttle, we have a lot of people to thank — most importantly, our hard working employees who led the charge,” said ErSelcuk. “We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Governor’s Office, the Delegate to Congress, the Virgin Islands Port Authority, and our FAA Carrier Management Team whose support we could not have done without.”
