More Rain Soon Come

An extensive line of heavy showers and thundershowers is heading to the Virgin Islands from the southwest.

Frederiksted, St. Croix should begin to see this weather activity shortly and the line of showers will begin to impact St. Thomas and St. John by 2 pm.

From this activity the territory could see rainfall accumulations of one to two inches in a thirty minute period and two to three inches in a one hour period.

Gusty winds on the order of 30 miles per hour from the north-northeast are associated with this line of showers.  In the short term, an improvement of the weather on St. Croix is not expected until 8 pm Friday and an improvement on St. Thomas and St. John will not be seen until about 2 am Saturday.

Following this improvement, the territory will see continued scattered showers through Sunday.

Another tropical wave is expected to impact the territory on Sunday.
