Free Genealogy Workshop Saturday, October 29, 2016

St. Thomas — The Caribbean Genealogy Library, Inc., (“CGL”) will offer a free Genealogy Workshop for Beginners on Saturday, October 29th, at 2:00 P.M. The workshop will take place at the Caribbean Genealogy Library located at Al Cohen’s Plaza on Raphune Hill, next to Mango Tango Art Gallery.  The workshop is open to any and all community members interested in learning how to get started tracing and documenting family history.

Topics covered in the workshop will include: Charting your family, Virgin Islands Census Records, Virgin Islands Church Records, Internet Resources (including Ancestry.com) and an overview of other family and cultural resources available at CGL.

The Caribbean Genealogy Library is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2000.  CGL’s mission is to identify, preserve and provide access to Caribbean genealogy, history and cultural heritage information resources and to promote and encourage their use for family history documentation, education and scholarship. CGL is funded through its membership fees and tax-exempt contributions.
