Football Star Peyton Manning Recooperates from Superbowl Loss on St. John

It seems that St. John beaches can heal all wounds, even internationally-inflicted ones to the ego.

After losing the Superbowl to the New Orleans Saints by a score of 31 to 17 on February 7 in a game watched by millions across the globe, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning licked his wounds with a visit to Love City.

Manning was joined by several Colts teammates during the beginning of his trip, which started around the middle of February.

Manning’s wife Ashley joined the quarterback for the end of his St. John sojourn, which wrapped up on Tuesday, February 23.

The four-time National Football League MVP, must have felt better after enjoying the luxurious Peter Bay Beach House amenities, just steps away from the surf in the exclusive gated enclave of Estate Peter Bay.

While he booked the reservation under an alias and was insistent on keeping his vacation top secret, Manning and his teammates apparently didn’t think they would be recognized at Hooters on St. Thomas, where they dined and drank on the second day of their trip.

Manning made a more low-profile stop at iconic St. John  burger establishment Skinny Legs with his wife later in his island visit.

During his vacation, the football star also used the services of the popular private St. John chef and caterer Mathayom, who cooked for the Colts quarterback at Peter Bay Beach House.

The post-Superbowl vacation, wasn’t Manning’s first trip to St. John.

The quarterback, who graduated from the University of Tennessee, is a friend of St. John homeowner and country western star Kenny Chesney. Manning and his wife even honeymooned on St. John in 2001.

The football star and his teammates and wife were reported to be wonderful guests and many residents hoped the February vacation wouldn’t be Manning’s last trip to Love City.
