Tuesday, November 8 – St. John Historical Society’s first meeting of its forty-third program year at 7pm at the Bethany Moravian Church Hall.

Wednesday, November 9 – Gifft Hill School Weekly Produce Markets! Please come to the Upper Campus each Wednesday from 3:15 – 4:00pm to purchase fresh produce from our gardens! Thursday, November 10 – The Virgin Islands Good Food Coalition is excited to collaborate with the VI Department of Tourism, Department of Agriculture, and other partners on the 2nd Annual Dine VI – FOOD LEARN project and the first time it is being held on St. John. This is a stellar opportunity to expose youth, teachers and community stakeholders to locally sources, produce and Farm and Food Education. The event is being held at the Gifft Hill School from 12:00 – 2:00pm. Visit dine.vi/events for more information.

Thursday, November 10 – VIPA is hosting a public meeting to discuss proposed increases to its marine tariff. The meeting is scheduled for St. John at 6 pm in the Cleone H. Creque Legislative Conference Room.

Thursday, November 10 – Bajo El Sol Gallery in Mongoose Junction will be hosting a reception and meet and greet for visiting Danish Curator Karen Munk-Nielsen from 6 to 9 pm. All are invited to attend. Munk-Nielsen is the head curator at Denmark’s Holbæk Museum, one of eight museums that collectively make up Museum West Zealand. The museum system covers archeology, cultural history and art.

Gail Karlsoon and Suki Dickson Buchalter will present the new book “Learning About Trees and Plants – A Project of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of St. John.” Copies of the book will be available, and can also be downloaded free at www.uufstjohn.com. Sunday, November 13 – A celebration of Clean Islands International and VIERS leader Randy Brown’s life will be at VIERS (near Little Lameshur) starting at 2:00 pm until the music, laughter and good stories dwindle.

Tuesday, November 15 – VIWMA Town Hall Meeting on the Plastic Bag Regulations. Join VIWMA for a discussion on the new Plastic Checkout Bag Regulations. VIWMA representatives will discuss the new regulations, exemption and penalties for violations. The meeting on St. John will be held at the Cleone Creque Legislative Conference Room from 6 to 8pm.

November 28 & 29 – Thanksgiving Regatta; All classes of boats are welcome to enter the Thanksgiving Regatta at Coral Bay, where the U.S. Virgin Islands boast world-renowned Caribbean Island hopping sailing. The event is sponsored by the Coral Bay Yacht Club.

Wednesday, November 30 – St. John All-Island Children’s Choir led by Kristen Carmichael-Bowers will be performing at the Westing on November 30 at 5:30pm. Admission is free, and this promises to be a lovely event showcasing the talented third, fourth and fifth graders from JESS, GHS and St. John Christian Academy. SJSA is in need of chaperones who are willing to volunteer from 1:00pm until the show starts.
