Businesswoman Cid Hamling Arrested For Disposing of Free Publications

St. John business leader Cidney Hamling was charged with Malicious Mischief at 3:11 p.m. Friday, November 18, for throwing away copies of a free tabloid publication in Cruz Bay.

Hamlng, owner and proprietor of Connections in Cruz Bay and Connections East in Coral Bay, was arrested on a citizen’s complaint by the publisher of the free publication which is circulated in public on St. Thomas and St. John.

The publication, which promotes its profane sexual content, was recently criticized by Senator at Large Craig Barshinger for the fabrication of a racially-tinged interview with St. Croix native Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs.

The incident was listed on the official log at the V.I. Police Department Leander Jurgen Command in Cruz Bay as Malicious Mischief.

Hamling declined to comment on her arrest on advice of counsel.
