8 Tuff Miles Attracts Throngs

 

Runners begin the 11th annual 8 Tuff Miles road race on Saturday morning, February 24. More than 710 people registered to run the race, making it the biggest group ever to participate. Thirty-five U.S. states, Canada, France, the British Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico were represented in the race. Twenty-six-year-old St. John resident Jeremy Zuber won 8 Tuff Miles for the fourth year in a row with a time of 50:14. Zuber ran an average six-minute mile. Twenty-seven-year-old Sally Roberts of Watertown, Massachusetts, won the women's race with a time of 1:04:12, or an average of 7:40 per mile.
